The Power in Submission

We, as human beings, have an inherent tendency to try and do things our way. You know as well as I do that we very much like being in control; we like planning for contingencies, and we like preparing for whatever it is that we so quickly forget isn’t guaranteed or promised in the first place. This prideful tendency of ours, poses quite the threat to our spiritual lives by staring our faith in the eyes and challenging, with indirect condescension, God’s promises.

Something I’ve learned since starting over in life…

Today is just one of those days where I am so infinitely proud of the person I am becoming. It hurts my heart to imagine that someone might not get to experience such joy. I have never been one to admit that I’ve been through a great deal in life, but as I grow, I am beginning to recognize that acknowledging it, and accepting it is what further develops your character.

There is a spiritual reality that I have found is often ignored by the day to day Christian, a truth that is neglected, or, perhaps even forgotten in the midst of a disciple’s earthly life: God is abundantly present every, single, moment of our lives. He is far closer than we know, he is within and all around us.
